Sonochemical CO₂ Conversion in a Packed Bed Reactor

This SCGC-FIRST project develops a scalable approach to converting carbon dioxide into valuable hydrocarbons using catalytic sonochemistry. While sonochemical CO₂ conversion is promising, current systems rely on suspended catalysts that require downstream separation, limiting industrial scalability. The project proposes a novel packed bed sonochemical reactor (PBSR), in which a structured metal foil serves as the catalyst or catalyst support.
